MANDATORY PLAYER REGISTRATION 

Player registration will be 1-5 PM on Saturday, July 13th at the USTA National Campus Welcome Center multi-purpose room. If for any reason you are unable to attend Player Registration, we MUST receive written notification by email. Please email clays@usta.com PRIOR to July 13th.

PRIVATE LESSONS AT THE NATIONAL CAMPUS

Any tournament players interested in scheduling a private lesson/hitting session while at the campus during the tournament, please call the USTA National Campus programming office at 407-675-2504, to schedule your lesson; or email Kim Desdunes at kim.desdunes@usta.com

Lesson Rates:

  • 1 player/1 pro: $65 per hour

  • 2 players/1 pro: $38 per person, per hour

  • 3 players/1 pro: $30 per person, per hour

PRACTICE COURTS

  • Players wishing to practice prior to Saturday, July 13 should book practice courts directly on the National Campus website here.

  • Saturday's practice courts are available first come first serve on courts 1-17 from 10am - 7pm and courts 18-24 from 1pm - 5pm.

  • During the tournament, practice courts will be available starting an hour prior to the first match of the day. Players may book courts after the schedule is out by texting Lauren Rothstein at 407-821-9615. We will only book slots for players, not coaches. Four players will share a court. Reservations are NOT needed before play begins, as all match courts will be open.

DOUBLES

  • Players are encouraged to register online for doubles prior to the tournament deadline. BOTH players must register with their partner or email doubles partnerships. 

  • Players may register for doubles online before the tournament deadline without a partner 

  • Players may continue to register for doubles and select partners AFTER the entry deadline by emailing us.

  • Following player selection, an email will be sent out for players looking for partners to share their contact information with other players looking for partners. Players who need a partner and remain unpaired by July 8 will be paired randomly.

  • Per USTA rules, the tournament staff cannot give our player/parent contact information. 

  • All doubles players will re-confirm their partnership during the Mandatory Player Registration.  Last minute changes will be accepted during the Player Registration period.

  • Players unable to find a doubles partner prior to the tournament will have an opportunity during the Player Registration period.  The tournament staff will maintain a list of players looking for a partner but will not be responsible for pairing partners. 

  • Entry deadline: Saturday, July 13th at 5:00 p.m. EST.

 

ALTERNATES

The alternate list shall be posted after the registration deadline.

  • Replacing of Player Before Draw is Made: The tournament committee shall replace a player who was accepted as part of a Section's quota with the next player on the Section's endorsement list. The tournament committee shall replace a player who was NOT accepted as part of a Section's quota with the next highest remaining alternate.

  • Replacing of Player After Draw is Made but Before the Completion of the 1st Round: The tournament committee shall replace a player after the draw is made, but before the completion of the 1st round with the next highest remaining alternate.

  • No Replacement of Players is Made After the Completion of the 1st Round: No players are replaced in the draw after the completion of the 1st round. For example, a player who wins their 1st round, but cannot play their 2nd round due to injury, is NOT replaced with an alternate.

  • On-Site Alternates: Step 1: Check-In on Saturday, July 13 during the player registration. Step 2: Entry fee of $167. must be paid before you can be listed as an on-site alternate. If you do not play doubles or make it to singles the entry fee will be returned to you. Step 3:  After all players have checked in, we will order all the on-site alternates according to their standings on the Boy's 12s Clay National Alternate List. We will post this list on the website. Please check the USTA tournament website on Saturday night to determine your standing on the on-site alternate list. Step 4: Sign in at the tournament desk by 7:30 AM on Sunday. Step 5: Watch and Wait. If a player no-shows for a match or a player withdraws before setting foot on the court for her first match, we then call the highest ordered on-site alternate who has signed in on time to the Tournament Desk and that player will be placed in the draw.

DRAW TYPE AND MATCH FORMAT

Singles: Compass draw that guarantees each player at least four matches.  The round of 16 losers feed into a separate single elimination draw (silver) and the quarterfinal losers feed into another separate single elimination draw (gold). Match Play: All "east" matches (main draw) and third place playoff are best two out of three tiebreak sets.  All "non-east" matches (consolation) are best of three tiebreak sets with a 10 point Match Tiebreak in lieu of the third set.

 

Doubles: Single elimination draw with a playoff for third place.  Match Play: Best of three tiebreak sets with a 10 point Match Tiebreak in lieu of the third set.  The semi-finals, final and third place playoff are best two out of three tiebreak sets.

ENTRY FEE PAYMENT

Players who have not paid the entry fee must pay the $155 fee during registration by cash or check made out to "USTA". Credit cards will not be accepted. 

 

ATHLETIC TRAINERS

Athletic trainers will be available at the National Campus.

 

RACQUET STRINGING

Stringing is available on site.
